IPOH: Perak MCA has questioned the Ipoh City Council’s standard operating procedure (SOP) used in the killing of a stray dog. Its Public Service and Comp­laints bureau chief Low Guo Nan said under the Animal Welfare Act 2015, the council was barred from doing so. Low was responding to the fatal shooting of a stray dog in Pengkalan Gate yesterday. He said the council officer told him that the dog had been chasing motorcyclists, as well as biting goats belonging to the villagers. It said the enforcement team had been tasked with resolving many complaints received on the stray dog problem.
