more-inChief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the State Cooperative Marketing Federation to procure maize harvested by farmers in recent rabi at the minimum support price. They requested the government to stand guarantee for MARKFED to secure loans to procure maize. Mr. Rao responded positively and asked the finance department to arrange guarantee to MARKFED. He also instructed Marketing Minister T. Harish Rao to take steps to open MARKFED-operated maize procurement centres all over the State, a release said. It added that the Chief Minister mandated the MARKFED to purchase maize at ₹₹1,425 a quintal to the last farmer.
