MACC should be given time and space to investigate alleged corruption involving two senior RTM officers, says Gobind

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will be given time and space to investigate alleged corruption involving two senior officers of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), says Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo (pic). Gobind added that he will likely hold a meeting with RTM's management later today (Oct 14) to discuss the matter. The two were remanded for nine days to help in an investigation over a false claim involving funds from the Selangor Tithes (zakat) Board (STB). It was learnt that the two RTM officers submitted a false claim to RTM, although STB had given its sponsorship to produce a television programme, while the third individual detained was the husband of one of the senior officers. On a separate matter, Gobind noted that his ministry will focus on developing the nation's creative industry which was given an allocation of RM148mil under Budget 2020.
