The crash happened on the southbound carriageway south of junction 12 for Quedgeley shortly after 7.30am today. A statement by Gloucestershire Police at 9am said: "We were called to a serious collision near junction 13 of the southbound side of the M5 just after 7.30am today. "Officers are at the scene and the M5 has been closed between junction 12 and junction 14 southbound and between junction 13 and junction 12 northbound while a serious collision investigation takes place." Highways England tweeted: "Emergency services are at scene, expected to be closed for some time."
