M. Night Shyamalan's 'Glass' Is 'Split 2' For Universal And 'Unbreakable 2' For Disney

But the first biggie out of the gate will be M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, which is a sequel to both Touchstone’s Unbreakable and Universal/Comcast Corp.’s Split. As Universal announced yesterday, they will be handling the domestic distribution for Blumhouse's Glass while Walt Disney handles overseas distribution. Amusingly enough, Split earned 51% of its money overseas while Unbreakable earned 62% ($153m out of $248m) outside of America 17 years ago. I suppose getting John Slattery to play Walt Disney in a “Walt Disney Sunday night movie”-type intro is asking too much. They can afford to “split” the Split sequel because it’s a mutually beneficial deal between two titans who aren’t necessarily at war with each other.
