Lyft Inc. has finally unveiled its long-awaited initial public offering. The biggest beneficiary lies across the Pacific. Japan’s Rakuten is little known in the U.S., except as the jersey sponsor for Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors. It is, though, the second-largest e-commerce company in Japan and—thanks to a prescient investment in 2015—the owner of 13% of ride-hailing company Lyft.
