The Manchester United full-back lay prone on the Wembley turf for some time while several medical staff tended to him. Shaw received oxygen and was carried off on a stretcher after 53 minutes and replaced by Danny Rose. The FA later said Shaw was "walking and talking" in the dressing room when the final whistle was blown. Spain won 2-1 at Wembley thanks to goals from Saul and Rodrigo after Marcus Rashford had fired England in front. Shaw has started every one of United's four opening Premier League games this season and put in impressive performances.
