Luke Bryan started off Super Bowl LI by singing the national anthem, and it looks like he didn’t even need to write the lyrics down on his hand this time. “You have to not think about what’s going on outside of the stadium,” he said. “It’s almost like, [you] do an unbelievable job for the people in the stadium and then it’ll turn into that. And try to take it at that – don’t overthink it.”Bryan follows this year’s halftime performer Lady Gaga, who belted out “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 2016. Previously, Idina Menzel, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood each honored America by singing the song at past games.
