Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic made the most of 27 minutes on the court with the Slovenian national team, recording 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a 104-103 overtime win in a friendly against Turkey on Friday. Doncic didn’t play in overtime, but Slovenia still maintained its strong showing behind veteran point guard Goran Dragic. The team captain made a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left in the overtime period to propel Slovenia to victory. Dragic had retired from the national team after its first-ever EuroBasket title win in 2017, but announced his return to the squad on Aug. 5. Slovenia will play two FIBA European World Cup qualifying games, with the first contest against Estonia taking place on Aug. 25.
