ANAHEIM, Calif. — The first time Chad Green met Luis Cessa, it was shortly after they had been traded together to the Yankees. The two minor-league pitchers had been acquired from Detroit in December in exchange for Justin Wilson, a pivotal reliever for the Yankees last season. While Wilson recently received a cortisone injection for an ailing elbow, Green and Cessa are emerging as candidates in a Yankees rotation that is being transformed. “I don’t want to say I was mad at Cash, but I didn’t want to see us trade Justin Wilson. While Green was overpowering in striking out 11 against a superior lineup, Cessa was coolly efficient.
