Luggate due for a growth spurt

An indication of how big the village of Luggate will be in a few years is provided by this recent aerial photo of earthworks being carried out by Willowridge Developments. Owner Allan Dippie said yesterday the company was establishing the infrastructure for its Luggate Heights development of a small number of big residential sections, on the right, and also the extension of Luggate Park, containing smaller, cheaper sections, on the left. The 22 Luggate Heights sections went on the market in May with price tags of between $325,000 and $495,000. Luggate Park’s 130 to 140 sections were for affordable housing and Mr Dippie said they would be brought on to the market in stages. Luggate Park was the subdivision that lost Dunedin City Council-owned infrastructure company Delta $5.9million before tax in 2012.
