The Offaly man finished his second round with a flourish, sinking a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th role to reach seven under par. At the time of writing, Lowry is two strokes ahead of Daniel Brown who is on (-5), but the Englishman had yet to complete his second round. Lowry claimed a sensational victory in the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Antrim, and the Clara native looks set to make a strong bid for the coveted Claret Jug again this year.
