"Te Whare Ahuru, which is the acute adult mental health at Lower Hutt built in 1995, [had] soiled carpets, [and was] old tired unwelcoming," Boshier said. Boshier said the mental health unit, Tiaho Mai, at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland opened two years ago and was the best of the three facilities inspected.
