Low ranking of PH passports worries senator

SEN. Francis Tolentino has voiced concern over the low ranking of Philippine passports in the 2021 Henley Passport Index. The Philippines tied with Cape Verde Islands and Dominican Republic in the latest passport ranking. He said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) should not take the matter lightly. "It is indicative not just of the survey done, but the power of our passport," Tolentino said. Maria Alnee Gamble, executive director of the Office of Consular Affairs, said the Foreign Affairs department is studying the practices of other countries and is considering tapping the services of the Philippine Post Office.
