If the low pressure transforms into a cyclone, it will be named 'Dana,' a name proposed by Qatar, meaning 'a very beautiful and valuable pearl' in Arabic. The cyclones in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are named by the World Meteorological Organisation’s regional cyclone agency ESCAP. The India Meteorological Department, or IMD, said the low pressure in the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent Andaman Sea could intensify into a depression by Tuesday and potentially evolve into a cyclone by Wednesday.
