On Monday, the weather warning stated that the low pressure located in the eastern central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent northern Andaman Sea has intensified into a distinct low pressure system while remaining in the same area. If the low pressure transforms into a cyclone, it will be named 'Dana,' a name proposed by Qatar, meaning 'a very beautiful and valuable pearl' in Arabic. The cyclones in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are named by the World Meteorological Organisation’s regional cyclone agency ESCAP. The India Meteorological Department, or IMD, said the low pressure in the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent Andaman Sea could intensify into a depression by Tuesday and potentially evolve into a cyclone by Wednesday.
