Love Island have revealed details of their overhauled aftercare following backlash from former contestants following the tragic deaths of Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis. A Love Island spokesperson told The Sun: 'The medical team also contacts each Islander's GP to check they feel that person is able to take part.' When it comes to aftercare, Love Island ensure they give contestants a debrief on location with a psychological consultant. Following the death of Mike Thalassitis (pictured), 26, who acommitted suicide, Love Island contacted experienced physician and Chief Medical Officer Dr Paul Litchfield. Producers also make sure each contestant has access to any other aftercare support if they need it, according to the publication.
