Sure, Lou Lamoriello did a lot of things right in his time running the Toronto Maple Leafs. But consider the names Stephane Robidas, Joffrey Lupul and Jared Cowen. Robidas was here one day — the last day of training camp in 2015 — talking openly about being the seventh defenceman. Pretty soon, Lupul was sent to Robidas Island and his cap hit became LTIR. Cowen took up negative space.
