Lotus wants to make a statement. "Lotus has been in survival mode for years," says Phil Popham, the recently installed chief executive of the 70-year-old business. Supplied Project 130 aims to show that Lotus is back and has the financial muscle of Geely behind it. Brushes with collapse meant that like many other niche British sports car manufacturers, Lotus seemed destined for the history books. Popham wants to get Lotus back to those days.
