The system for general investors would be quite similar to the IPO system for eligible investors. The stock market regulator made the decision at a meeting with the stock exchanges and the Central Depository of Bangladesh. A seven-member committee, led by BSEC Director Md Mansur Rahman, will make necessary recommendations about the new system. The BSEC had planned to quash the lottery system in IPO as a huge amount of investments usually get stuck in the primary market due to a delay in conducting IPO lottery and distribution of shares. The new system would allow all applicants for IPO shares to win at least a portion of shares, they said.
