RALEIGH — The Canadiens’ seven-game holiday road trip ended on a down note Tuesday and the 3-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes was the least of the team’s problems. Gallagher is one player the Canadiens can’t afford to lose. The Canadiens played better than they did in the two losses in Florida on the weekend. It didn’t take long for the Canadiens to draw even on a goal by the red-hot Max Domi at 3:48. The Canadiens’ power play, which ranked sixth in the NHL coming into the game, failed to take advantage of its opportunities.
