Carmen Charls has been left with sizeable tertiary fees and is struggling to get by following the death of her father. A student fears her university studies could be in jeopardy following the death of her father. Vet student Carmen Charls​, who is from South Africa, has just started her third year at Massey University in Palmerston North. She said she couldn’t get student loan because she was an international student, which made it hard to support herself financially while studying. After two years of hard work, Charls wants to continue her studies and complete her degree.
