A brush fire near Santa Clarita has burned more than 5,500 acres and filled the Los Angeles basin with smoke and ash amid a heat wave that has scorched the Southland. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fire is 0% contained. The fire, which was reported Friday at about 2 p.m., burned 2,000 acres overnight as officials battled a blaze fueled by 35-mph wind gusts.
