Four New Plymouth golfers are taking up the challenge to play 72 holes of golf in one day. The Longest Day is an endurance golf challenge designed to test skill, strength and stamina - and raise money for the Cancer Society at the same time. The challenge is to successfully complete four rounds of golf between dawn to dusk, which John Sigurdsson, 38, thinks will take at least 12 hours. They have been doing fitness training, but no golf, so on the day their scores might be "pretty bad", he said.
