Schoolchildren wait at the barrier-less James Line railway crossing for a train to pass. Long-awaited improvements for pedestrians crossing the railway line at Palmerston North's James Line are planned for the coming financial year. But there was no mention of barrier arms for the crossing. But the James Line crossing was still an issue for some, and was a frequent drop-off and meeting point for parents.
