Chatham-Kent police say a London, Ont., woman has been arrested after failing to attend court in a six-figure fraud case. The woman, 71, was charged in September 2025 with fraud over $5,000. Police allege she defrauded an 81-year-old woman from Chatham of $100,000 between 2018 and 2024. The accused claimed she required money to cover "costly and experimental medical treatments," police said in a media release on Monday. A warrant for the woman's arrest was issued after she failed to attend court in October of last year, and on Feb. 20 she was arrested on Third Street in Chatham, according to police.
