Thousands of people in London protested demanding the release of more than 100 gay men currently alleged to be contained in a concentration camp in Chechnya, Russia. According to Novaya Gazeta, a Russian most trusted newspaper, police in the primarily Muslim republic rounded up more than 100 men suspected of homosexuality adding that at least three of them have been killed. Former Vice President of the United States came out and condemned the inhuman actions by the Russians. Russian president Vladimir Putin through his spokesman Dmitry Peskov has however denied the claims saying that Kremlin does not have confirmed information on the targeted violence. If this is happening in Chechnya, the world needs to rise up,” said Ellen DeGeneres who also is an LGBTQ activist.
