SEREMBAN (Bernama): The Transport Ministry emphasises that it has not introduced any new conditions or policies for renewal of lorry drivers' licences. Its minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook (pic) said all conditions and policies, including legal action, currently applicable were stated in the Land Public Transport Act 2010. He pointed out that there were groups who were deliberately pitting the lorry drivers against one another to the extent of creating confusion and resulting in strikes by lorry drivers recently. "I have directed the JPJ DG to look at the memorandum sent by lorry drivers while they were on strike and I have asked him to give a briefing to the lorry drivers association," he said. About 500 lorry drivers gathered at the grounds of the Transport Ministry in Putrajaya to express their concerns before handing a memorandum to Loke, who was represented by the Director of Enforcement Division of JPJ, Khairul Anuar Bachok.
