JOHOR BARU: Transport Minister Anthony Loke today said that details of the suspended Rapid Transit System (RTS) project will be announced before the month-end deadline. "As announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng during the Budget 2020 presentation, the government intends to proceed with the project. Loke was speaking to the media after launching the Johor Port Authority's (LPJ) Port Week 2019 event. The deadline for the suspension of the RTS project was initially set for Sept 30, but last month, Singapore’s Ministry of Transport announced that the date had been extended to Oct 31. The RTS, which is aimed at easing congestion at the Johor Causeway, will link Bukit Chagar in Johor Baru and Woodlands in Singapore.
