Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday told Trinamul Congress and BJP MPs from Bengal not to turn the House into the Bengal Assembly when the two sides shouted at each other over “cut money” and law and order in the state. During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Locket had accused Mamata of being a beneficiary of the “cut money”. The Trinamul legislator also urged the Speaker to expunge from the records references to the law and order in Bengal, claiming a state’s law and order couldn’t be discussed in the Lok Sabha. “If it is allowed, then law and order in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar should also be discussed on the floor of the House,” he said. At this juncture, the Speaker said: “Don’t make this house the Bengal Assembly”.
