The desert locust, widely regarded as the most destructive migratory pest in the world, is the scourge of the farmer. Locust swarms have been a bane of India's farmers for over six decades, and scientists warn that climate change could lead to such invasions becoming not just more frequent, but more intense. Locust swarms that are not identified and destroyed at their early generations, could grow beyond the control of humans, causing widespread devastation to vegetation.
