Local philanthropist David Nierenberg named to board of National WWII Museum

A painting of Pearl Harbor done by a former Evergreen Public Schools art teacher is on display at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Gordon Sage was a Marine serving aboard the USS Maryland when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. David Nierenberg has been named to the board of trustees of the National WWII Museum, which honors the memory of those who fought for freedom more than 70 years ago. David Nierenberg said that there are other reasons he is happy to join the board of the New Orleans-based museum. “I love the city of New Orleans — its music, its culture, its food.”And there is another family-oriented reason to support the WWII museum, Nierenberg said.
