The fugitive chief recruiter for the Islamic State (IS) in the Indian subcontinent, Mohammed Shafi Armar, has been recruiting youths from Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. He has been using Facebook and other personal messenger services to contact, brainwash and recruit youths from the three countries, reports NDTV. Armar, a native of Bhatkal in Karnataka, has been named a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’ by the US on Thursday. During the interrogation of alleged IS operatives, it emerged that Armar was motivating and radicalizing Muslim youths in India. He was said to have been recruiting youths for the Jund ul Khalifa-e-Hind through online radicalisation.
