Lloyds is planning to shift thousands of skilled IT jobs from UK to India


Lloyds Banking Group is hiring hundreds of IT engineers in India while planning to cut similar jobs in the UK. These employees will be based at a technology centre in Hyderabad, which opened in 2023 as part of the bank’s digital transformation strategy. The recruitment drive includes full-stack, cloud, and quality engineers.At the same time, Lloyds is restructuring its IT department in the UK. Last month, 6,000 employees in its UK IT division were informed that their jobs were at risk as the bank reviewed critical skills needed for its engineering roles.
