(Image source: Paulo Cesar Santos/Commons)Angola's downstream sector has received a boost with the news that Lloyd's Register has won the inspection contract for the Armada Olombendo FPSOThe vessel, operated by Malaysia's Bumi Armada Berhad is located in water at a depth of 450m at the south-east end of the Cabaça North field and north-east of the Cabaça South East fields off the coast of Angola. This contract provides Bumi Armada with access to Lloyd's Register's risk-based inspection services and software which is designed to develop quantifiable risk profiles. The data from this software will assist Bumi Armada Berhad in making CAPEX and OPEX decisions, and ensure that high priority items are the focus of maintenance programmes. Work will be carried out from Lloyd's Register's Malaysia and Aberdeen offices over a period of six months.
