Liverpool are set to reward Virgil van Dijk with a bumper new deal which would be worth in excess of £50million based on add-ons. Van Dijk became Liverpool’s record signing back in January 2018 when he joined from Southampton for £75million. He also became one of the club’s highest earners after signing a five-and-a-half year contract with wages worth a reported £125,000-a-week. His arrival on Merseyside had an almost instant impact as he helped the Reds reach the 2018 Champions League final. A year later and Liverpool were able to avenge that defeat to Real Madrid to lift their sixth Champions League crown after defeating Tottenham.
