Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has fired a Ballon d’Or warning to his fellow team-mate Virgil van Dijk and Barcelona star Lionel Messi after the Senegalese finished fourth at the coveted ceremony in Paris on Monday evening. Mane has had a sterling 2019 and finished joint top scorer of the Premier League last term with fellow Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He is also the Reds’ leading scorer this season, having won the Champions League and Super Cup with Liverpool in the last six months. And against Merseyside rivals Everton on Wednesday evening, Mane scored another goal and assisted twice as Liverpool romped to a 5-2 win at Anfield. As well as Van Dijk and Mane - Salah and goalkeeper Alison were named in the top seven of the Ballon d’Or rankings.
