The Reds were unable to make a breakthrough in the first leg go their last 16 clash. Sadio Mane had the best chances of the evening but was unable to convert. Roberto Firmino did impress just a day after almost being ruled out because of a virus. Fabinho was also impressive in taking the place of the suspended Virgil van Dijk in the heart of a defence.
