Mohamed Salah has claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool departure at the end of the season will not play a part in any decision over his own future. Salah was the subject of strong Saudi Arabian interest last summer and the Reds are expected to receive similar offers when the transfer market opens up again. Klopp’s exit marks the end of an era at Anfield and he is the only Liverpool head coach that Salah has known, adding fuel to the fire over rumours that he may decide to leave at the same time as the German boss. Salah’s contract is up at the end of next season and Liverpool will have a decision to make over whether they decide to cash in on their talisman, enter the final 12 months of his deal and risk losing the Egyptian forward on a free transfer or hand him a new contract. He sat down with Reds icon Jamie Carragher to preview Manchester City’s visit to Anfield, when Salah was put on the spot and directly asked if Klopp leaving could persuade him to exit at the same time.
