Liverpool fan Sean Cox has returned home for the first time since suffering life-changing injuries outside Anfield two years ago. The Irishman had travelled to Merseyside with his brother for the Reds' Champions League semi-final first leg against Roma in 2018. But the father-of-three was subject to an unprovoked attack from away supporters which left him in a coma with serious brain injuries. A legends match was staged at Ireland's Aviva Stadium in April last year with £690,000 (€748,000) raised for the Sean Cox Rehabilitation Trust. The fundraising event ended with all the acts taking to the stage for a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone.
