That contract remains on the table, but the Englishman is believed to be unlikely to put pen to paper to stay at St Mary’s Stadium. If City do sign Kane, that could be enough to turn the Red Devils towards Southampton star Ings, who would be far cheaper than Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. Perhaps the only so-called ‘Big Six’ club not making a new striker one of their priorities for this summer’s transfer window is Liverpool.
