Liverpool could reportedly kickstart their summer overhaul as soon as next week, with the Reds said to be closing in on a deal to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The playmaker looks set to be the first player through the door at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp rebuilds his midfield. With James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all leaving the club as free agents, Liverpool are prioritising signing at least two midfielders this summer. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds appear to have settled on making Mac Allister their first signing of the summer. It is reported that Liverpool are working to complete ‘player side details’ with the Argentina international – such as his potential contract and personal terms – by the end of the week.
