Southampton agreed a deal for van Dijk to go to Anfield and the Dutch international completed a medical on Wednesday. Van Dijk said: “I’m delighted and honoured to have agreed to become a Liverpool FC player. And van Dijk sent his thanks to those who developed him and supported him at Saints. "Liverpool Football Club can confirm they have reached an agreement with Southampton for the transfer of Virgil van Dijk," the club tweeted.
