Liverpool’s season will have been nothing short of ­stunning if they can finish second in the Premier League and win the Champions League. But, even so, I’m not getting too carried away with the idea that Liverpool will be Manchester City’s main rivals for the Premier League crown next season. Winning trophy after ­trophy is what will really help them kick on to chase down that elusive Premier League title. This season Liverpool have been near-perfect up front, easily a nine out of 10. But Klopp and his men have to keep pushing and progressing because, in terms of catching City over 38 Premier League games, there is still a good way to go.
