At Chelsea, Boehly has been a willing front man for the project. But the kind of mistakes made by Chelsea in such heavy spend have exposed the flaws in such a policy. There is a clear way to address a bad season and make sure it doesn’t turn into a vicious spiral of decline. FSG have the ability to rectify the problems of this season in the market, but they will still need to act on that. For Chelsea, next season will be another foray into the unknown.
