Before the Belgian had even touched the ball Chelsea were a goal down to a Daniel Sturridge scissor kick. It was no siege of the Liverpool goal, far from it. Perhaps relieved that Chelsea's early dominance had not yielded a goal, Liverpool managed to increase the tempo of their play and with that came a little threat of their own. It was a bold move and a surprising one, given that the Brazilian had played well, but before Hazard could touch the ball Liverpool were ahead. Liverpool responded and Sturridge curled a shot from 20 yards on to the top of the bar and over.
