Jurgen Klopp and co. believe the valuation is almost double what he’s really worth and have so far decided against starting work on trying to secure a transfer deal. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United have been touted as potential destinations if the 20-year-old leaves Leverkusen, with Liverpool also interested in getting him on board. However, the Independent have now reported Liverpool are unwilling to meet Leverkusen’s demands, with BayArena chiefs eager for the bidding to start at £80m. Klopp, sporting director Michael Edwards and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon want to ensure Liverpool stay on the right track after years of steady progress.
