The adjustment comes as some push for more sweeping changes that President Trump and conservatives oppose: expanded access to mail-in voting. Advocates call the mail-in option crucial to ensuring people can safely participate, with the coronavirus’s threat only intensifying in many states, including Texas. The Texas Democratic Party had asked the court to reinstate a district judge’s order expanding mail-in voting.
