Greyhound trainer Brendon Cole has had live-baiting charges against him dropped. One of New Zealand's leading greyhound trainers has had allegations of live-baiting his dogs dropped. Court staff confirmed to Stuff the eight animal ill-treatment charges Brendan Cole faced were no longer active. Live-baiting involves using live animals as a lure for greyhounds to chase during training, with the belief it will make dogs run faster. Cole runs a greyhound business with his wife Lisa, the country's leading greyhound trainer, near Palmerston North.
