There is one new case of Covid-19 in New Zealand today, a woman in her 20s who arrived in the country from Ireland via Dubai. Details of the man's movements before he boarded the flight are still emerging including a visit to a supermarket and a McDonald's restaurant. Despite the positive test, the Health Ministry yesterday said this case still presented a "low risk" to New Zealand with no evidence of any transmission in New Zealand involving this case. Health Minister Chris Hipkins today said community testing was not producing the numbers overall they wanted to see. He said refusing a test could mean the difference between identifying a chain of community transmission or Covid going unnoticed.
