Litterbugs clean up their act


Some may even have to clean toilets. They are all litterbugs who have been ordered to perform community service under the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act, which came into force on Jan 1. On top of a RM1,500 fine they had paid earlier, they had to do four hours of community service. Community service, he said, was not to punish but aimed at “rehabilitating” those who fail to keep public spaces clean. However, he said they are still required to complete the community service hours.
